ALEFA works with a focus on creating an enabling and equitable society where each intersex person can be accommodated and supported to live in peace and harmony. We are conversant with commonest injustices experienced which include forced medical interventions, discrimination and stigma, infanticide, ostracization, legal invisibility and conflation among others.

To address these we implement our programs through,

• Advocating for legal reforms that explicitly recognize intersex identities, protect bodily autonomy, and prohibit non-consensual medical interventions on intersex children.
• Raising public awareness to combat stigma, myths, and discrimination through education campaigns, community dialogues, and media engagement.
• Building alliances with human rights organizations, civil society, and government bodies to foster an inclusive legal and social environment and provide legal aid.
