CLIMATE JUSTICE

Living in a world which is changing where climate change is the going concern for human survival yet intersex persons often so much excluded from adaptation strategies. Intersex persons in rural areas specifically face worst effects of climate change due to scarce resources, increasing their vulnerability to climatic shocks.

We at   ALEFA focus our works through;

  • Empowering intersex communities, especially in rural areas, with knowledge and resources to adapt to climate change impacts.
  • Promoting sustainable livelihood initiatives that enhance food security and economic resilience in the face of environmental shifts.
  • Supporting community-led initiatives for reforestation, watershed management, and renewable energy adoption
  • Supporting climate-smart agricultural practices and sustainable natural resource management initiatives that are inclusive of intersex and marginalized farmers.
  • Facilitating access to climate information and early warning systems, particularly for intersex persons.
  • Advocating for fair distribution of climate finance and resources to communities most affected by climate change, ensuring transparency and accountability.
  • Empowering intersex to lead climate advocacy initiatives and participate in decision-making processes related to climate action.
